• ESS on the exterior side of exterior walls shall be located not less than 3 feet from doors and windows directly entering the dwelling unit. [CRC R328.4(3)]
• Provide manufacturer’s installation and mounting specifications
• Include mounting detail of ESS on Elevation page
• Where energy storage device input or output terminals, or the circuits from these terminals pass through a wall, floor or ceiling, a readily accessible disconnecting means and overcurrent device shall be provided within sight of the energy storage component. Fused disconnecting means or circuit breakers shall be permitted to be used. [CEC 706.15 (A)(1)(2)&(D)]
• The disconnecting means shall be legibly marked in the field. The marking shall meet the requirements of CEC 110.21(B) and shall include the following:

• Indicate the existing and proposed Occupancy Group classification(s). [CBC 302.1]
• Indicate each structure’s occupancy type (single family, multifamily, commercial or accessory structure, etc.).
• Provide the number of units, and the number of stories.

Roof Plan

• Provide specifications for the existing roof framing member size, spacing and span.
• If the existing roof rafter spacing exceeds the maximum allowable under current code, provide plans and construction details for the reinforcement of the roof framing or provide calculations produced by a licensed design professional showing that the existing framing is adequate to support the applicable design loads. [CRC R802.5]

Attachment Detail

• The sample roof framing plan must be adjusted to match the layout on the roof.
• Include distance from roof to top of module on plans.
• Panels to be maximum of 10 inches above the roof surface
