Include this note on ELD - [Producer's storage device(s) will not cause the Host Load to exceed its normal peak demand. Normal peak demand is defined as the highest amount of power required from the Distribution System by Producer's complete facilities without the influence or use of the energy storage device(s)]


Provide "ENERGY STORAGE DISCONNECT" Plaque on each ESS system disconnect per CEC 706.15 (C).


Provide Mounting details for Battery.


Provide an elevation of the wall showing the battery locations including distances from any doors or windows


Batteries shall not be installed under a window


Batteries shall be at least 3' horizontally from any door or window 


Provide a clearly labeled disconnect device for the batteries on the exterior wall of the residence. a breaker cannot be used for the required disconnect if possible, locate the disconnect near the msp.


The disconnect shall be located a minimum of 5 ft from the batteries 


Interior ESS installations:

  • Provide overhead view of garage to show impact / non-impact areas and where the ESS will be located.
  • Provide note: HEAT ALARM WILL BE INTERCONNECTED TO THE SMOKE ALARMS IN THE HOME AND INSTALLED PER MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
