Plan required to address HVHZ wind pressures HIGH-VELOCITY HURRICANE ZONE (HVHZ) PV REQUIREMENTS
Buildings and structures located within the high-velocity hurricane zone shall comply with the provisions of Sections 1605, 1607, 1611, 1616 through 1626.
The High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) consists of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
Sections 1512 through 1525 set forth the minimum requirements for the installation of roofing components, roofing systems and roofing assemblies and the waterproofing there of.
24" max attachments span is the most used span for this AHJ
CLEARLY SHOW IN THIS SHEET THE WIND PRESSURE VALUES FOR EACH ZONE. MAKE SURE THE WIND PRESSURES INCLUDE THE COEFFICIENTS FOR ARRAY EDGE FACTOR (GAMMA E), PRESSURE EQUALIZATION FACTOR (GAMMA A), AND THE PRESSURE COEFFICIENT FOR EACH ROOF WIND ZONE. FBC SECT 107.2.1. (See attachment example)

APPROVED PLANSET FOR CORRECT REFERENCE
PV modules, Racking, connection, and Stand-offs shall be rated for the wind pressure zones they are installed in.
Projects in this AHJ will need modules that can withstand high velocity hurricane zones (HVHZ).
If Goodleap we must swap finance to be able to use the below modules.
The only modules that we have available that can work in this area are Canadian Solar CS3N-400MS (as of 2-16-26).
Rated mods previously used: Silfab 380W, CS3N-395MS, Mission 345-350W, Jinko 405W, Aptos 365W. Modules must be rated at 5000 PA or higher.
Rail-less is NOT allowed. PV modules in portrait orientation ONLY (landscape is not allowed).
Junction box spec sheets required!
Miami-Dade NOAs are required for attachments and sealant (to be attached to planset). Located in FILES section at bottom. [The following attachments have NOAs/FPAs as of 2/10/26]
Comp Shingle: Unirac Stronghold with Butyl & K2 Multimount
Rolled Comp: Chem Curb
Tile Roof: Unirac Flashkit TR
Standing Seam Metal: S-5-N Clamp
Metal Roof: RT Mini II, SCI Attachments
Miami Dade requires corrections to be clouded
Miami Dade requires a response/revision letter from engineering that addressed the comments.
Ironridge QBase attachments to be used for rolled comp roofs (no tilt kits allowed).
Add span table for attachments being used. 6/6/25
Remove layers/flatten planset in Acrobat before sending for stamps 6/6/25

- Roof Plan
Roof pressure/wind zones are required to be calculated or presented correctly on plans.
Add multileaders pointing at roof attachment, and rafter/truss.
Show dimensions of wind zones (3 ft), from array (all sides) to all roof edges (2xH distance required from panel edge to the edge of the roof (2 times the height that the panel sites above the roof, i.e., if the panel is 5 inches above the roof, it must be 10 inches from the edge of the roof. Demonstrate this measurement on the plans to show compliance)
If more than one attachment type is used on the project Identify them each with a leader.

Add a multileader pointing at attachment "FLASHING AND KARNAK SEALANT" for tiles roof.
Add a multileader pointing at attachment "FLASHING AND M1 SEALANT" for shingle/metal roof.
NOA is required for sealant (M1 sealant for comp shingles and metal roofs, GAF flex sealant, PG500, or Karnak KarnaFlex for tile roofs.
Provide roof flashing detail drawing for penetrations of the solarhook.
UNIRAC SM STANDARD RAIL to be used for UNIRAC attachments.
XR100 RAIL to be used for Jinko attachments (Obase)

TLD TO REFLECT:
Intersystem bonding terminal and metal water pipe bonding (example in files section).
Show feeder size between MSP and utility meter
Line side taps:
Remove the grounding conductor between AC Disconnect and POI.
If using a subpanel to relocate loads, plans need to call out those loads specifically. Using "to other loads" is NOT acceptable.
MPUs:
PROVIDE GROUNDING ELECTRODE CONDUCTOR SIZE. NEC 250.66. MINIMUM #4 AWG.
PROVIDE GROUND RODS DIMENSIONS/SIZE ACCORDING TO NEC 250.52(A)(5).
SERVICE RISER DIAGRAM REQUIRED (WHEN A NEW MPI IS ADDED or an MPU is called out)
IF THERE IS A GENERATOR ON SITE SHOW THEM (Doesn't matter if it is an automatic or manual generator *plug in style*)
Make sure that the loads being backed up by battery is properly depicted on the planset.
