ELECTRICAL (2017 National Electric Code as Amended)

  1. Tap conductors are permitted within the meter socket enclosures and service panelboard cabinets when the splices or taps do not fill the wiring space at any cross section to more than 75%. The typical 100-ampere meter socket does not have ample cabinet space for the installation of tap conductors. The alternative installation would include a new 100-ampere meter socket designated for supply side tap conductors that would include mounting studs capable of permitting the attachment of a listed wire lug suitable for supply side tap conductor terminations. (Article 312.8)
  2. Installation specifications for the piercing connectors shall be onsite for inspection.
  3. Any deficiencies in the Grounding Electrode System shall be corrected during this project.
  4. The licensed electrician shall be onsite at the time and date of the final inspection. Only trained personnel shall be available at the time of the final inspection to engage energized electrical equipment.
