Plan Set Requirements

### Add a separate note page to plans and add the following notes: 2014 NEC - 110.3 Examination, Identification, Installation, and Use of Equipment. Replacement of the electrical panel is required after review of the submitted pictures. In addition any fittings that are rusted and or corroded are required to be replaced. 2014 NEC 200.4 (B). Where more than one neutral conductor is in an enclosure with different circuit conductors, it shall be identified or grouped with the corresponding ungrounded circuit conductors. 2014 NEC 210.4 (B) Disconnecting Means. Each multi-wire branch circuit shall be provided with a means that will simultaneously disconnect all ungrounded conductors at the point where the branch circuit originates. An approved handle-tie or a multi-pole breaker is required. 2014 NEC 210.4 (D) Grouping (Multi-wire Branch Circuits.) The ungrounded and grounded circuit conductors of each multi-wire branch circuit shall be grouped by cable ties or similar means in at least one location within the panelboard or other point of origination. The approved plans from the Village of Mount Prospect, along with any associated plan review comments and all manufacturer's installation instructions are required to be onsite and readily available upon request by a Village Inspector during the duration of the construction project. 2015 IRC R106.1.2 Manufacturer's installation instructions as required by this code, shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection. If the meter socket enclosure is not of the newer style ring-less type it will be required to be replaced and have all required code clearances. If applicable: When a new panel is installed a plywood backing is required to be installed to provide a separation between the foundation wall and panel. 2014 NEC 250.104 (B) Other Metal Piping. Bond the hot, cold and gas at the water heater. 2014 NEC 250.68 (C) (1) Grounding electrode conductor shall connect within the first 5 feet from where main water pipe enters the building and run continuously to the electric service. The grounding electrode conductor shall be installed within conduit. 2014 NEC - 110.3 Examination, Identification, Installation, and Use of Equipment. The electrical panel, meter socket, electrical riser and associated wiring shall also be code compliant. i.e. Minnies are not an approved method to support the riser. The riser conduit shall be supported per the Village of Mount Prospect Local Amendments (2 piece clamp backs or Unistrut with clamps), riser wiring to be in code compliant condition upon examination. 2014 NEC 110.26 Spaces About Electrical Equipment. Access and working space shall be provided and maintained about all electrical equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. All equipment listed within the submitted plans shall match what has been installed within the field. Revisions to the plans will be required to be submitted for review if any changes are to be made to the equipment, location of solar panels, equipment, etc.. This review and approval is required prior to scheduling any inspections. 2014 NEC 408.4 (A) Circuit Directory or Circuit Identification. Every circuit and circuit modification shall be legibly identified as to its clear, evident, and specific purpose or use. Directories that are not completely labeled are not code complaint. 2014 NEC 110.12 (A) Unused Openings. Unused openings, other than those intended for the operation of equipment, those intended for mounting purposes, or those permitted as part of the design for listed equipment, shall be closed to afford protection substantially equivalent to the wall of the equipment. Where metallic plugs or plates are used with nonmetallic enclosures, they shall be recessed at least 6 mm (¼ in.) from the outer surface of the enclosure. 2014 NEC 314.17 Conductors Entering Boxes, Conduit Bodies, or Fittings (A) Openings to Be Closed. Openings through which conductors enter shall be closed in an approved manner. All listed and approved screws associated with the box or conduit body shall be installed. Duct seal shall be installed in all service entrance conduits and any others penetrating the exterior of the building that are part of this installation. Drywall screws are not approved for exterior use. Securement of any exterior solar panel equipment, conduits, etc. shall be secured per the manufacturer’️s installation instructions, the 2014 NEC and rated for the environment while being securely installed into the structure. If an inspection is failed, the “Qualified Person” (Electrician) shall review inspection report and verify all items have been corrected and are now code compliant prior to scheduling any re-inspections.
