Access pathways need to be located over structurally supported area. Roof overhangs area typically not located on structurally supported areas. 3 sides of 3’ of access around the solar panel system from the street or front side of the house. That includes the 3’ on the sides and 18” on each side of the ridge. Also if it is more than 150’ in length it will need some mid access
we can no longer start the fire setbacks from the edge of the roof if there is an eave, but if there is no eave we are good to start at the edge. The City of Ontario is stating that the "eave is an unsupported area of the roof and cannot be used as a fire setback" so will have to start designing the fire setbacks from the support wall.
