Net Excess Generation Notes

Net metering is accomplished using a bi-directional meter. Any customer net excess generation will be carried over to the customer's next bill at the utility's retail rate, as a kilowatt-hour credit. At the end of the calendar year (December 31), any credit balance, carried from month to month will be carried forward to the next year to the customer's account.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with City of Safford before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
