Site Plan Reqs
  • AC Disconnect and Production Meter Socket MUST be installed within 10’ AND Line of Sight of the Main Service Panel.
  • Production Meter Socket MUST be installed within 48” to 75” to the center of the glass above grade level and must be wired per Electric Utility Standard Drawing SD 600-80.

Add to the “City Notes” section:

  1. "Authority Having Jurisdiction”
  2. Fire Authority Having Jurisdiction”

  1. Must meet requirements listed in National Electric Code (NEC) & the California Electric Code (CEC Articles 690 & 705 (B10.2g.i)
  1. Add the following warning placard to the AC Disconnect placard a. “ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD DO NOT TOUCH TERMINALS. TERMINALS ON BOTH LINE AND LOAD SIDES MAY BE ENERGIZED IN THE OPEN POSITION.”
  2. Please add the following labels to the Directory Placard: (a) Orientation (b) PV Production Meter
  3. REPLACE NOTE 4. WITH " SIGNS SHALL BE ATTACHED TO THE SERVICE EQUIPMENT BY EPOXY. "
  4. Please add the following labels to the Directory Placard a. Orientation "All placarding must comply with SD 600-83,84, 85, 86 with all information and language, including verbiage, placard size, font size, placard locations, quantity, manufacturer, model numbers, actual equipment locations, conduit runs, etc."

Placards

General

  • Show conduit run.
  • Placards must list inverter + module make & model.
  • Match labels exactly as shown in plaque page/files.
  • Add Production Meter + PV Breaker to labels sheet.
  • Size: min 2"x5", max 3"x6" (except directory placard).
  • Material: metal or plastic, red background with white lettering.
  • Font: Arial, size 12-28.
  • Durable, permanent (epoxy/equivalent only - no screws/rivets).
  • Must not cover manufacturer labels.
  • Each AC & DC disconnect requires its own placard per NEC/CEC codes.

Directory Placard

  • Show PV module quantity.
  • Show site orientation.
  • Add PV module manufacturer.

AC Disconnect

  • Change “AC Normal Operating Voltage” → “Nominal Operating AC Voltage.”
  • Add the following warning placard to the AC Disconnect placard a. “ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD DO NOT TOUCH TERMINALS. TERMINALS ON BOTH LINE AND LOAD SIDES MAY BE ENERGIZED IN THE OPEN POSITION.”

DC Disconnect

  • Add “Rated max power-point current” + value.
  • Add “Rated max power-point voltage” + value.

Main Service Panel

  • Add warning label inside per SD 600-84.

Other

  • Add PV Breaker label
