Meter Location Approval
- Complete and submit the Load Questionnaire to Colton Electric Utility.

Special Situations
- Multiple meters require a Notification of Address Number Assignment from City Planning or Building & Safety.
- Multi-unit upgrades must include the unit number and existing meter number.
Fees
- Utility fees must be paid before permits are issued.
- Pay utility fees at Colton City Hall.
Same-Day Disconnect / Reconnect
- Coordinate a same-day disconnect/reconnect with Colton Electric Utility before starting work.
- The Building Inspector must be included in the coordination.
- Failure to coordinate may result in a $250+ tampering/diversion fee.
Inspections
- Schedule the Building inspection first: .
- The Electric Utility Inspector performs the final inspection.
- Work must be installed, inspected, and approved before 2:00 PM PST for same-day energization.
Service Cut-Over
- After Building approval, coordinate with Colton Electric Utility to transfer power to the new panel.
- Schedule the cut-over before 2:00 PM for same-day service activation.
