For new construction/customers we use our average annual residential usage of 8,000 kwh. For values over that, the customer will need to provide proof of increased usage such as a contract to install a swimming pool or proof of electric vehicle purchase, etc. Another way to determine a system size is to use square footage of the home multiplied by 2 watts/sq. ft. For example: a 2500 sq. ft. will be permitted to install a 5 kW AC system.

Performance meter socket and AC disconnect need to be installed on the street-side of the fence accessible to Merced technicians at all times. Meter socket to be installed at about the same level as the main panel meter. Also, the wiring shall go as follows: inverter to top lugs of meter socket, bottom lugs of meter socket to bottom lugs of AC disconnect, top lugs of AC disconnect to main panel.
