Stand-alone meters must receive an MPU in Utah
Phases:
Systems may be single or three phase except where single phase will cause unacceptable imbalance or three phase interconnection is not reasonably available.
Safety Considerations for systems 10kW and less:
The owner’s system shall be protected so that a short circuit due to any cause, will not damage the generator or any of its equipment.
In the event the Utility’s source of energy is lost the generating system must be electronically disconnected from the Cooperative’s lines until the source can be reestablished.
Safety Considerations for systems 10kW or more:
Phase failure/reversal and voltage imbalance protection must be provided by the owner.
A disconnect that the Cooperative can control just be provided which will allow the Cooperative to lock the generator off the distribution lines.
In the event the Cooperative’s source of energy is lost, the generating system must be electrically disconnected from the Cooperative’s lines until the source can be reestablished.
