If during a billing period the amount of energy produced by the member exceeds the amount of energy consumed, the member will receive a credit on their bill equal to the net excess kilowatt-hours produced multiplied by energy supply charge. Accrued energy credits shall be made payable at the earliest of (a) the end of the current calendar year, or; (b) the date that the member terminates service under this rider.

- Tap Criteria
(A) Preferred Methods
1. DG interconnected via a properly sized sub breaker downstream from the main disconnect in the service panel
2. Meter socket with main for alternative energy
3. Meter socket with factory installed dual lugs, 320 A
4. Attached to metering transformer cabinet with available lugs
(B) Allowable Methods
1. Properly sized UL-listed NEMA 3R sealable bussed gutter
2. Properly sized UL-listed NEMA 3R termination box
(C) Not Permitted Methods When Connecting DG on the Line Side of the Member’s Overcurrent
Protective Device
1. Splices
2. Split bolts
3. Tap connectors
4. Insulation piercing connectors
5. Installing more cables than lugs are designed to handle
6. Modifying or installing lugs on any equipment on the line side of the overcurrent protective device, other than what is listed on the manufacturer’s drawing associated with the UL listing
• Line side taps within the member’s service panel are allowed. Load side taps within the Cooperative-owned meter enclosure are not. In the event that Rock Energy would find a cut meter seal or any alterations having been made to Rock Energy’s equipment by anyone other than Rock Energy crews, a tampering charge will be applied to the member’s bill.

- AC Disconnect Required
- Yes
- AC Disconnect Labeling
- Visible Lockable Labeled Disconnect
- Meter Spot Process
• Should the installing contractor need to disconnect the electrical service during any part of this installation, the installer must contact them to schedule a time for Rock Energy crews to perform the disconnect. Cutting the meter seal or making any alterations to Rock Energy's equipment by anyone other than Rock Energy crews will result in a tampering fee being applied to the member's bill.
Plans & docs
- Site Plan Reqs
• The AC disconnect must be within 10 ft of the utility meter. If this cannot be met, include the reasoning on the site plan. A variance request must be made with and approved by the utility.
• The site diagram must clearly indicate the location of the panels on site as well as the location of the AC disconnect and inverters in relation to the Cooperative-owned meter socket.
- SLD Reqs
- The one-line diagram must display the location where the distributed generation system will interconnect into the main service infrastructure as well as the sequence in which the equipment will be wired. Technical information such as the specifications of the AC disconnect and the amount of generation on each circuit should be displayed as well.
- ELD must callout distance between AC disco and REC meter as less than 10'
ESS requirements:
- PV AC disconnect must be before the Tesla Gateway 2 in the circuit
- Existing house panel needs to be shown on the drawing to establish how the tap will be made feeding the added Tesla Gateway 2
- A visible, lockable, labeled disconnecting means is required between the Tesla Powerwall 2 and the Tesla Gateway 2
- Install Reqs
***Cutting the meter seal or making any alterations to Rock Energy's equipment by anyone other than Rock Energy crews will result in a tampering fee being applied to the member's bill.
• Rock Energy does not permit the interconnection of a DG facility to take place within the Cooperative-controlled area of the meter socket.
• Splices are not allowed in meter sockets, pedestals, or cabinet.
• Metering equipment shall not be used as a raceway unless designed with such provisions.
• It is not permitted to modify or install lugs in a meter socket, pedestal, or metering transformer cabinet other than what is listed on the manufacturer’s drawing associated with the UL listing.
- Placards
Overall
• All signage and labeling shall meet the applicable NEC requirements including:
- NEC 110.21 (B)
- NEC 690.13 (B)
- 705.10
• Placards are preferred, as they hold up better over time, but stickers are allowable as well.
AC Disconnect
• The manual disconnect switch must be clearly marked with a permanent, weather-proof label as 'Utility AC Disconnect'
• The AC Disconnect will need to be labeled, as will additional signage indicating that a second power source is in place at this location. Those signs may contain verbiage such as, “Solar PV System Equipped with Rapid Shutdown”, “Caution: Solar Electric System”, and/or, “Caution: Contains Multiple Power Sources.” These labels must be clearly legible stickers or placards located at the meter socket and on the neighboring equipment.
• Multiple Disconnects: If a single Utility AC Disconnect cannot be used to disconnect all DERs, all Utility AC Disconnects shall include numerical identification such as “Utility AC Disconnect 1 of 2” or similar. The number of disconnects required to be operated to isolate the DER from the Area EPS shall be clear.
• Variance: In cases where the disconnect is more than 10 ft from the utility meter - a permanent, weather-proof, clearly labeled map or diagram showing the location of the utility meter, disconnect switch, production meter, and DER facility must be placed on the utility meter.
Main Meter
• A sign at the main service meter shall indicate that DER is present. Each type of DER present shall be listed (i.e. PV, Wind, Energy Storage System, Gas Generator). The sign shall provide clear direction to the distance and location of all DER Utility AC Disconnects that are required to be within 10 feet and within clear line-of-sight or the main service meter unless given a written exemption from the Utility. A map shall include outline of all structures in the area and compass arrow for orientation.
