Consumers Energy requires a minimum of 3 months of consecutive usage in order to submit for interconnection. They do not allow for load justifications. (8/21/2024)
CONSUMER ENERGY HAS A UNIQUE WAY OF CALCULATING OFFSET:
- Maximum Offset: PV systems may offset up to 110% of the home's annual electricity usage.
- Annual Usage Calculation: Use the most recent 12 months of utility bills to determine total annual usage.
- Estimated Usage (if <12 months available): If less than 12 months of data is available, estimate usage as: (Total Utility Usage ÷ Months Provided) × 12.
- Solar Production Formula: PV system production is calculated using: (DC PV System Size) × 0.1274 × 8,760 hours = Yearly Production
- This calculated production must be less than or equal to 110% of the annual usage.
Consumers Energy does not accept load calculations to justify size, they do accept PV watts and Aurora calculations
