Net Excess Generation Notes

Currently JMEC will apply a kWh credit for each excess kWh produced (Net Metering). This incentive is one kWh produced for one kWh used at the current bill rate. When there is more produced than used for any given month the excess is rolled over to the next month with April as the settle up month. The excess kWhs that are not netted out over the year will be purchased at JMEC's avoided cost as filed with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission per rule 17.9.570.11.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with JMEC - Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
