• If a Net Metering Facility uses more electricity than is fed back into the District’s system during a billing period, the Customer-generator will be billed for the net energy consumed based on the rate applicable to their class of service.

• If the Net Metering Facility feeds back into the District’s system more electricity than is used by the Customer-generator’s owner during a billing period, the Customer-generator will be billed the facilities charge applicable to their class of service and be credited for the excess electricity generated and fed to the District’s system.

• For the billing period ending in March of each year, any unused credits that have accumulated during the previous twelve months will be applied to the District’s low income assistance program. The monetary rate of credit for these purposes will be based on the District’s avoided cost.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with EPUD - Emerald People’s Utility District before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
