In addition to the charges set forth in paragraph 1 immediately preceding, members who interconnect a generating system pursuant to this Rider shall be assessed a monthly grid access fee equal to $7.50 for each kilowattac of installed nameplate capacity for the generating system. The charges set forth in paragraph 1 and the grid access fee set forth in this paragraph 2 shall be referred to collectively hereinafter as the “Charges.”

For each billing period, the member’s monthly energy consumption will be net metered against energy produced by member’s generating system. Any energy production in excess of the member’s energy consumption for that billing period will be credited by an amount per kilowatthour at the Cooperative’s Value of Renewable Generation as determined in accordance with Exhibit A (“Excess Energy Credit”), up to the amount of the Charges for that billing period.

Excess Energy Credits that exceed the Charges for any billing period will be retained to offset Charges in future billing periods. Upon termination of this Rider or the member’s disconnection of its generating system from the Cooperative’s EPS (except for the Cooperative’s termination of the member’s interconnection for cause), the Cooperative shall issue a check to the member in the amount of any such retained Excess Energy Credit.

As of the Effective Date of this Rider, the Cooperative’s Value of Renewable Generation is $0.04807/kWh.

Site Plan Reqs

Depicting roof pitch, Azimuth, location of ground mount on the property showing pitch and Azimuth

As part of the site-plan diagram, the location of a ground-mount solar system must be clearly marked on the member’s property. This action would ensure that when the Blue Ridge representative makes a visit to the site, there would be no question about the exact position of the planned solar array.

SLD Reqs

The cooperative will no longer approve any lineside taps. Should such a configuration be encountered, the solar-system application would not be approved, nor would the interconnection process be completed.

Install Reqs

Any plan to install solar equipment upon a power-line right-of-way easement assigned to the cooperative would be prohibited. Neither project approval nor the interconnection process would go forward until the proposed site of the equipment could be relocated. The relocation site would need to be situated on ground that rests totally beyond the boundaries of any said right-of-way strip.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with Blue Ridge Electric Co-op before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
