- SLD Reqs
DPU will require:
1. Overcurrent Protection and Ratings for the Utility Required AC System Disconnect Switch,
2. Rapid Shutdown Compliance with 2017 NEC.
3. All Equipment Engineering Data for PV Modules, Inverter (UL 1741), Batteries (if used), and Disconnect Fuses or Circuit Breakers.
4. Method of connection to utility.
5. Proper Labeling of Solar/PV equipment and UL Listing of Switches and other equipment.
IF the One-Line Diagram is not properly and adequately provided, DPU will not connect.
On the Site Plan, the utility required AC Disconnect switch shall be shown located in the immediate vicinity as the utility meter, and shall be readily accessible, meaning not installed inside a fenced area, or other place that utility employees can’t quickly access the disconnecting switch.
All conductors shall be adequately protected against short circuits and overcurrents per the NEC and a decent One-Line diagram will reflect all that. Please refer to SLD sample
- Install Reqs
Utility Inspection Required: Yes
(Interconnection Requirements - Page 6, Section 5.2) A manual load-break disconnect switch or safety switch with a clear
visible indication of switch position between the EPS and the Generator. The switch must have pad lock provisions for locking in the open position. The switch must be visible to, and accessible to the Department personnel. The switch must be in close proximity, and visible from, the Customer’s point of electrical interconnection with the Department’s EPS. The switch must be labeled “Generator Disconnect Switch”. The
switch may isolate the Generator system and its associated load from the EPS or disconnect only the Generator from the EPS. After Install: Please do not close, or allow your electrician / installer to close, (place in the “on” position) the lockable disconnect switch until DPU has conducted its safety inspection of the installation.
