Net Excess Generation Notes

Flow of energy from the customer's renewable generation facilities into the electrical system of the company shall be permitted, with the meter of the company running backward. If the amount of energy supplied to the company exceeds the amount of energy consumed, customer will receive a credit on their monthly bill for the net excess kilowatt-hours of energy received by the company in the applicable month. A customer’s excess generation will be credited with a weighted average Pg-2A rate using 45% on-peak Pg 2A $/kWh rate and 55% off-peak Pg-2A $/kWh rate. A transmission credit rate of $0.00831/kWh will also be applied to all excess generation. Customer shall retain all renewable credits and other attributes associated with the energy sold to the Company pursuant to this tariff.

Site Plan Reqs
  • The location of the interconnection disconnect switch (If the disconnecting device is not within 10 feet of the electric metering location, a permanent label describing the location of the disconnect shall be installed on the electric meter socket/pedestal)
  • Adjoining street name
  • The street address of the DG facility
  • For Category 2, 3, or 4 DG facilities, the site plan shall show the location of major equipment, electric service entrance, electric meter, interconnection disconnect switch, and interface equipment.
  • System must be installed within 90 degrees of due south. (Azimuth)
  • Must be installed with a panel tilt between 10-50 degrees.
  • Must have less than 10 percent obstacle shading based on analysis of an industry-accepted tool.
SLD Reqs

LST cannot be in meter can

ANSI symbols shall be used in the one-line schematic diagram to show the following:

  • Generator or inverter.
  • Point where the DG facility is electrically connected to the customer’s electrical system.
  • Point of common coupling.
  • Lockable interconnection disconnect switch.
  • Method of grounding, including generator and transformer ground connections.

  • Based on the interconnection diagrams, behind the meter connections are permitted in the Utility meter or main panel. No parallel meter required like WE Energies

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with WPS - Wisconsin Public Service before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
